Some fellow members have been asking me to share pics of my custom rooms, so I figured it was time to post them! I also do a bit of sewing for my dolls, so I decided to include that here as well. I'll keep this thread updated as I take new pictures and create new stuff.
My Barbie rooms were inspired by My Froggy Stuff on YouTube. She makes so many things for her dolls, and she's really fun to watch. A few years back she showed how to make an infinity room, which is basically a doll room where you can change out the wallpaper and floors to redecorate. Following her tutorial, I made two infinity rooms, a large one and a slightly smaller one. I really like having the option to redecorate, and it saves on supplies and space.
First up is the smaller infinity room decorated for my Barbie MtM I lovingly named Danielle. I like to give each of my Barbie MtMs and Fashionistas a personality and backstory, and that serves as the main inspiration for their room. In this case, Danielle is an aspiring fitness guru who hopes to one day open her own yoga studio (I mean, it's only fitting for a MtM doll to be into yoga, LOL). I decided to make her a very Zen bedroom with an area for her to exercise. The room also features inspirational wall art and a large window with a view of the beach.
On the left side is her bed, which I made from foam board, with a pink ombre bedspread, two comfy pillows, and a fun throw pillow. I sewed the bedding with my sewing machine. In the corner is a rope basket I made from gluing together twine, and it holds two rolled up yoga mats. There's also a wall art collage above her bed, and more on the wall next to her bed.
On the right side is the yoga area. I made the pink yoga mat out of craft foam, and the wooden bench out of foam board and scrapbook paper. On the bench are two candles I made by cutting small pieces off a hot glue stick, and then sticking thin wire into the top for the wick. There's also a little mat that says "find your balance." The large gold mandala on the wall is a vinyl sticker from an Etsy shop called MyDaisyDecals.
Here's a better view of the mandala.
And here is the wall art. The collage is stickers from a pad from Michaels, but the two that say "inhale" and "exhale" were free printables from the internet that I scaled down to doll size in Photoshop.
Lastly, here's a bonus pic of Danielle relaxing on her bed
Anyway, this post has become way longer than I intended it to be, so I'll add the rest of the pics later. If you guys have any questions about how I made anything or where I got the materials, please don't hesitate to ask! I hope you enjoyed!
